Gosha Levochkin works across painting, drawing, and furniture from his studio in Brooklyn, moving between canvas, wood, and paper as the work requires. His path began with Raymond Pettibon, whose influence opened onto a wider set of references: Mike Kelley, Peter Saul, El Lissitzky, and Kazimir Malevich among them. That lineage runs through the work as an ongoing conversation between Post-Russian Constructivism and Suprematism, manga, and Pop Art, held together less by a fixed style than by a genuine curiosity about where these traditions meet and diverge. The furniture pieces extend the same visual thinking into three dimensions, treating structure and form with the same attention given to a canvas or a sheet of paper. Levochkin's work has been shown in Los Angeles, New York City, London, Athens, Hong Kong, Japan, and Korea.”
